I had only planned one card for today(the one with the Iris flowers)...had all the layers decided and when I was about to emboss the stencilled dots background,I got a bit confused as to which way to face the stencil so that it embosses and not debosses it...not wanting to take the risk,I used another stencil and cardstock to try and find out the right way...and ended up making another card using that 'practise' piece...
I started with a plain white card base for my first card and then cut a mat layer from lavender coloured cardstock...the top layer is also white and I have used Distress Inks and Altenew Halftone Dots stencil to create the pattern...the shades I have used here are carved pumpkin,spiced marmalade and wild honey...with the stencil still in place I embossed the background as well..
On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock,I stamped the Iris flower images using watermark ink and heat embossed them with copper embossing powder..I then coloured them in using watercolour brush pens and hand cut them before placing them on the card front...
I stamped the sentiment on a small white banner and adhered it to the card using craft foam...and finally I have used some copper/brown coloured adhesive pearls to embellish my card...
So as you know,my second card was made from the 'practise' piece....once it was embossed using Altenew Sketched Lines stencil,I cut this piece to size and then sponged in some Distress Inks to cover it..I have used wilted violet,scattered straw and shaded lilac shades here...I adhered this front panel to a dark purple card base...
On a separate piece of watercolor cardstock I stamped the Altenew Peonies and leaves and coloured them in using Aquarelle brush pens and a water brush...once dry,I cut them out and placed them on the card....
I stamped the sentiment on a small panel which I have covered with one of the shades of watercolour that I used in the flowers and then layered it on a purple glitter cardstock before adhering it to the card front....I have used a few purple sequins to embellish it..
