Altenew Flowers & Stencil Embossed Backgrounds

Image
I had only planned one card for today(the one with the Iris flowers)...had all the layers decided and when I was about to emboss the stencilled dots background,I got a bit confused as to which way to face the stencil so that it embosses and not debosses it...not wanting to take the risk,I used another stencil and cardstock to try and find out the right way...and ended up making another card using that 'practise' piece...

Two Cards Using One Stamp Set

Image
I love succulents....well,whats not to love...they look beautiful..they come in a lot of variety...you can make multiple plants from one, so new plants are free...they don't need much work if you have the basics right...they tolerate the weather beautifully...and the list goes on...and today I'm sharing two cards that I have made using the Honey Bee stamp set called Stick With Me...

You Inspire Me

Image
I was so happy when Clearly Besotted stamps re-opened a few months ago...I love their stamps and I hadn't tried any of their flower stamps yet...so I got this one with the poppies and a few sentiments..

Fairy In the Clouds - Action Wobble Card

It's been a while since I made an interactive action wobble card, so here's one today...I had fun creating the background too...I have used 6 shades of blue Distress Inks to create it...

Koala Hugs

A while ago,a crafter on Instagram - Felicia( smileyface003 ) - shared some gorgeous card panels that she created using Nuvo drops liquid...she shared a tutorial video as well and I've had this on my 'to try' list since that day...I think I used less of the liquid and spread it out much thinner than I should've but I still love the result...

Autumn Leaf Shaker Card - Time Out Challenge #90

Image
The theme for the new challenge at Time Out Challenges Blog is Autumn with the optional twist of speed stamping...I did time myself from start to finish and it took me 8 minutes and 43 seconds to create this card...which is well under the 10 minute limit given out for this challenge...this is definitely my fastest ever shaker card...

Camp Create Day 4 + Bonus Bonfire - Monochromatic Magic & Awesome Ombre

Image
There were two techniques shared on the My Favorite Things blog for MFT Camp Create Day 4 and Camp Create Bonus Bonfire and I tried  out both of them and am sharing them in today's post...while the ombre technique card came together very quickly, the monochromatic one took a while as I don't invest much in background stamps and didn't have any for this technique,so had to really think hard to come up with a design that I was happy with...

Camp Create Day 3 - Background Bonanza

Image
I am quite excited for Day 3 at MFT Camp Create as it features the kind of backgrounds that I love to make for my cards...so I went ahead and created not one but two cards with brightly coloured backgrounds as the main focus...

Camp Create Day 2 - Magnificent Masking

Image
So this is the second day of MFT Camp Create and the focus today was to create a background using the masking technique...Karolyn created a beautiful sunset horizon for her card and tutorial...and I decided to create a rainbow rays background for my card...

Camp Create Day 1 - Die Cut Inlay

Image
I always watch the MFT Camp Create videos as they are great technique videos and I learn so much...this time I feel confident enough to participate as well...for Day 1 of Camp Create, Barbara Anders showed the inlay die cut technique and challenged us to do the same...I really like this technique as even after adding so much to the card,we don't add layers and/or bulk to it...here's what I created...

Bright Flowers

When I started this card,I did not have a set idea or direction for it...so I was pleasantly surprised with the result...I wish this would happen more often...!! :)

Bird & Butterflies- Scrapbook Boutique August Challenge

Image
As soon as I saw the moodboard for this month's challenge at the Scrapbook Boutique blog,I went through all my stamps..didn't find anything I liked at first...a weird umbrella stamp from ages ago, small or odd looking bird stamps and no shoes stamps at all...got quite a few ideas that didn't work...but I kept going and here are the cards that I created for this challenge...

Best Teacher In The World - Time Out Challenge #89

Image
Were were given an image of a sitting/living room interior for the latest challenge at Time Out Challenges blog, and I chose to use the world map and the colours from the sofa and side table top for my card....I did however keep things simple so that the focus remains on the sentiment and the map...

No Good Reason to Act Our Age

Image
Most of my school time friends and I are fast approaching our milestone birthdays and we keep talking about it and make fun of how we will be counted as 'old' once we've reached that stage...so when I saw this Art Impressions stamp set,I couldn't resist getting it...was laughing all the time I was making this card...!!

Altenew August Inspiration Challenge

Image
Erum is a fantastic artist whose card is the inspiration for this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge...I took a lot of inspiration from both her cards to create mine..I did a whole lot of heat embossing on Vellum and wasn't sure if I would be able to put it all together...but I did...and here is my card..

Atlenew Decoupage Flowers - A Card & A Tag

Image
I have been planning to try out the decoupage technique for a very long time and have finally been able to create something...I have seen a lot of cardmakers create beautiful cards and share tutorials for this technique but the one video that I found the most helpful was the one by Yana Smakula...and although she used wood block stamps and coordinating layering dies for her tutorial, you get the idea of how exactly it is done...here is the link to her full post if you'd like to check it out - 3D Decoupage Technique by Yana Smakula

Fierce Friends Birthday Wishes - MFT Colour Challenge 74

Image
I wanted to try out my new MFT dies and stamps and what better way than to create something for a card challenge...so I made this card using the colours that were given out for MFT Color Challenge 74...I didn't plan it this way but I think this would be a great card for a little boy or even twin boys birthday..
